When is Black Friday 2019? Black Friday 2019 will be on Friday, November 23rd, 2018.
If you are curious as to when Black Friday 2019 is, then we’re happy to let you know that Black Friday 2019 is the day after Thanksgiving this year.
Black Friday started in the 1950’s in Philadelphia and officially took hold in the 1960s. It really wasn’t until the 1990s that it really started to grab hold of America. It became tradition for many families to camp out at retailers and at the mall the Day After Thanksgiving to get the best deals and start shopping for the holidays. This trend held steady through the early 2000’s and remained largely offline until around 2008 when more and more Black Friday deals online started to pop up.
Not only were there more deals online, but the sales started to creep earlier and earlier thus beginning pre Black Friday sales. Retailers like Walmart, Target, and Amazon amongst many others started pushing deals into October. Before too long, we started seeing deals creep into September.
Black Friday was the driving force behind Cyber Monday, Free Shipping Day, Green Monday, etc. Despite the rise of all of these other Shopping events, Black Friday is still the largest sales day in the US by a large margin. Make sure you shop pre Black Friday deals prior to November as there will be some great deals. And make sure you check out the big day as Black Friday 2019 is on November 23, 2018.
